The flower that never bloomed

Meant to be a flower, mistaken for a flame

The flame-flower fudge was to be the size of a fist, but it grew bigger, and bigger, and bigger… till it was time to leave college. It didn’t want to leave college. College was home. I tried lifting it up. It bit and slit my fingers. 

Red core, Amber Petals, 6 LEDs nestled inside. Big and prickly. All alone in a tiny room on a tiny campus somewhere.
